I am Ian. This is my art.

I was born in Redondo Beach, California in 1982. I grew up moving around the world. I've lived in parts of the US, Korea, Japan, Australia and Canada. I was very fortunate to attend an amazing high school in Toronto that specialized in the arts, the Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. From there I went to the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence for my freshman year of university before transferring to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Film and Television. I then realized my lifelong dream of returning to Southern California and have been here every since. I love LA.

My art is one of the few things that have remained constant in my life, though even that, you might agree, varies according to the different places I've been. The work displayed on this website is a selection of my art over the years. I've organized it in a way that I hope represents my artistic journey.

Some of the my influences include Egon Schiele, Hiroaki Samura, Andy Warhol, Norman Rockwell, Osamu Tezuka, and 2pac. I like to think of my artistic style as my unique vision guided by the creative achievements of the many artists whose work I admire.

My greatest source of inspiration is the people in my life. I thrive on connecting with others. If you have a project you would like to work with me on, or you just want to say hello, I would love to hear from you. I've been fortunate to make my living doing what I am passionate about, and I eagerly look forward to the next opportunity to work with someone.
