| I discovered 2pac's music when I was in high school, at an age when I was beginning to consciously form an image of the role I would like to play in society. His music was the first example I had come across of art and politics combined in a way that was intense and profound, yet popular enough for a mainstream audience. I learned from him that art is a means and not an end; perfecting one's self, rather than one's craft, is the highest pursuit in life and art is simply a reflection of that progress. His words guided and encouraged me when I needed someone to look up to. Here's to you, Pac! |
