In Toronto, there used to be thirteen grades in high school. They've since gotten rid of the extra grade, but I was in one of the last years to have to do it. That was a rather depressing time for me. When I should have been leaving for university like all the other kids from the States, I found myself stuck in high school for one more year. I felt trapped. Towards the end, I made this piece out of an old Chinese gift box that I found laying around the house. It pretty much sums up the inner dialogue I was having with myself at the time.
