| Eminem came out when I was in high school, and I was amazed by his lyrical skill. His ability to manipulate the English language was unlike anything I had ever heard. The content of his music was controversial and offensive to many, but high school was kind of a dark period for me, and I related to the way he used his troubled childhood as creative fuel and so explicitly talked about painful issues that youth face in his rhymes, such as child abuse, molestation, and drug use. |
