This piece was done for an assignment about the portrayal of war in the media. It got me thinking about how America's concept of war is distorted by the fact that we've had no first hand experience of mass modern warfare on our soil. Rather our ideas about war are derived mostly from what we see in movies and on television—they are make-believe, formed through the lens of the media. I think because of that our attitude towards war somewhat preconceived and oblivious. I guess that makes this image paradoxical, but that was my motivation behind it.
